Debra Mitchell's passion for breast care eveolved over time. Her undergraduate degree was in chemical engineering and her medical residency was in general radiology. After she diagnosed two people, best friends of her mother and her aunt, she had a new appreciaion for the disease portion of breast care rather than just the imaging and teaching perspectives.

Throughout her career Dr. Mitchell has been driven to have the best equipment, the best technology, the best training and the best means to serve her patient's special needs. This is expressed in her passion for both the science and the art of the field of breast imaging. When she and Dr. Kelly McDonough chose to found Breast Imaging of Oklahoma it was with the prospect of providing the highest technology available while still maintaining the human connection.

An Enid native, Dr. Mitchell and her husband reside in Edmond and enjoy spending time with their 3 grown children. She also enjoys reading, photography, swimming and the outdoors.
